Anna M. Bacon-Tinsley

As a health law attorney, she represents physicians and physician groups as well as physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other non-physician providers.
Within health law, Anna focuses on corporate and business transactions and regulatory matters. She advises healthcare providers on negotiating and drafting contracts, formation of group structures, employment and shareholder matters, credentialing, regulatory compliance (including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPAA, Anti-kickback and Stark compliance), Medicare audits and false claims actions. In addition, Anna serves as a neutral or advocate in mediation and arbitration. Her clients include physician practices and ancillary service providers throughout the State of Georgia, including IDTFs, free-standing imaging, portable imaging, dialysis centers, clinical laboratories, sleep centers and ambulatory surgery centers.
Anna actively participates in the education of healthcare providers and is the coauthor of several articles about the managed care environment. She also speaks nationally to healthcare groups including state and local medical associations, hospital associations, state-affiliated ACHE organizations and HFMA regarding health law and managed care.
Before becoming an attorney, she spent more than 10 years in the healthcare industry working at various hospitals ranging in size from 120 beds to 1,300 beds. Anna graduated with honors from Northern Illinois University and with distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Since 1997, she has been a member of Tinsley Bacon Tinsley, LLC. Prior to the formation of Tinsley Bacon Tinsley, LLC, Anna was a health law and litigation attorney for the firms of Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice (formerly known as Parker, Johnson, Cook & Dunlevie) and Baker, Donalson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C. (formerly known as Gambrell & Stolz).
Anna is a member and diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the American Bar Association (Health Law Section), the State Bar of Georgia (Health Law Section), the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys and the American Health Lawyers Association (Physician Organization Section). Since 1995, she has been a member of the Healthcare Panel of arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and has acted as an arbitrator (sole and panel member) in numerous business disputes in the Southeast. Anna also serves as an arbitrator for the American Health Lawyers Association.
